Hello! Here is my “blog” where I’ll post my writings for my class ENG 495: Introduction to Digital Humanities. Now, what exactly is Digital Humanities? For many, this is a new term that is also connected to a large unknown realm called the internet. Well, I’m not so sure of the answer myself but that is one of the many questions that we explore in this class. We discuss what digital humanities consist of and its impact on us– the readers. Other questions to consider are: how does technology influence our critical thinking skills? In what different ways does our brain process information from a screen versus paper? Do these new technologies influence our relationship with traditional ways of learning and if so, how will this impact educational institutions in the future? All very valid questions that arise when new innovations expand how we accumulate knowledge.
Amongst my class assignments, I may post anything else that I find interesting in order to make this space more personal. Something I am sure my Professor would encourage.
